Shawn has long dedicated himself to education. He worked as a teacher at Mathnasium, developing lesson plans focused on building his students’ intuition. Shawn also founded the Social Science Simplified YouTube channel, transforming college-level AP Psychology and AP US History curricula into approachable, engaging content for high school students. He began managing his first preschool over four years ago, and went on to manage a group of three schools.
Shawn graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Physics. He began his career at Goldman Sachs, and later transitioned to an investing role at BC Partners. He leveraged his experience in the business world to develop a state-of-the-art compensation and benefits plan which has enriched teacher satisfaction and retention. He lives in Portland, Oregon and, in his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and spending time outdoors.

The first in his family to go to college in the US, Ben understands the importance of education. He’s using his engineering background at Google to automate much of the day-to-day back-office work so teachers can focus on the classroom. Ben has worked in education roles throughout his career. As the President of College Students for Enrichment, he raised $5000 in funding each year to support afterschool tutoring for low-income students in New York. He also has a long tenure of mentoring public school students in Boston, teaching computer science at Harvard, and working with fitness clients as a personal trainer.
Ben graduated cum laude from Harvard in Applied Math with a minor in Statistics. He went on to work at Google as a product manager for Search and as a software engineer for Sheets. Ben holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Outside of the classroom, he has a love for golf, skiing and bad rom-coms.
